Ben Grambau graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor and Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences in 1999 and 2000, respectively. Ben spent time in graduate school studying irradiation effects on nuclear reactor structural materials.

Ben is currently employed by AREVA NP, the largest worldwide vendor for commercial nuclear reactors, and is located in Lynchburg, VA. He has been with AREVA since 2001 and started as a materials engineer working on a variety of materials issues within NSS Systems. Ben has actively participated in the materials area of the industry representing AREVA at both the PWR Owners Group and Electric Power Research Institute Materials Reliability Program. Ben also serves on the NEI Materials Technical Advisory Group.

Ben has held several supervisory and managerial positions within the materials and structural analysis disciplines at AREVA NP. Currently, he is the NSSS Systems Engineering Manager,where he is responsible for the safety, quality, technical and schedule performance of a team of engineers.

Ben's interests include motorsports, sports car racing, outdoor activities, cycling, and triathlons. Several years ago, Ben got interested in taking his car to High Performance Driver Education events where you learn how to drive fast (140+ mph) on a closed circuit road course. Ben also competes in several triathlons (swim, bike, run) per year and keeps busy with training when not at work. Ben is an Eagle Scout, has been to Philmont Scout Ranch twice, and enjoys outdoor adventures.
