Henrietta Onumah obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Oberlin College and a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her recent professional career has included: Reactor Engineer and Systems Manager at Exelon's Clinton Power Plant (CPS). Currently she is working on a Senior Reactor Operator License at Byron Power Station.

Henrietta believes in learning and has obtained further training at Illinois State University in Project Management and is a fellow of the World Nuclear University in Oxford, Great Britain in 2009. She has been a site team leader of National American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAY-GN) CPS chapter and an active member. She has worked and continues to work on projects that foster relationships between CPS and the community and also works to increase minority and women enrollment in Engineering.

Henrietta volunteers as a Math Coach for high school students, works with the special needs students, Boys and Girl Scouts of America and a number of other Not-for Profit organizations. She has also volunteered in rural areas in West Africa to increase the awareness of the importance of an overall good health regimen and periodic medical checkups.

When asked what keeps Henrietta motivated to achieve, she stated: "I enjoy discovering new things that I can do. There is no one in this world who is more surprised than I am when I accomplish a goal that most say cannot be accomplished."
