Timpla Stewart-Casey is a graduate of Duke University in Durham, NC, where she received her Bachelor degree in Computer Science.
Timpla is currently employed by Progress Energy at the Shearon Harris Plant in New Hill, NC. Timpla successfully completed Reactor Operator license class in March 2009. The NRC issued her a Reactor Operator's license for the Harris Plant in April 2009. As an Operator, she monitored, controlled, and tested plant equipment to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the plant. Timpla is now a Senior Nuclear Operations Instructor where she instructs initial and continuing training for both licensed and non-licensed operators.
Timpla resides in Clayton, NC with her husband, their golden retriever, and their cat. Timpla is a member of the Clayton Historical Association, which she helped to found, and for which she is a member of the Board of Directors and the Fundraising Committee chairperson. She is also a member of the Clayton Jr. Women's Club and on the Promotions Committee for the Clayton Downtown Development Association.
